A MEMOIR A TESTIMONY VOLUMES 1 AND 2

MEMORY OF MIRACLES VOLUME 1:

In Memoir A Testimony Volumes 1 and 2, Beth Durkee outlines her early life of trials and faith.  In Memory of Miracles, the reader meets a fascinating girl who grows into a strong faith based young woman facing crisis’ with courage.  From teen pregnancy to many strokes, brain surgeries, short-term memory loss, and double vision, Durkee retained a faith in the Lord few have.

Raised by a calm Catholic father and an exuberant religious mother, Beth knew church and God from an early age.  But not spiritually, this would come later as she realized God always has a plan, hears and answers our prayers when in line with his will, and sometimes his plans take years for completion.  The Lord had his hand on her life, orchestrating the events which could have killed her, without his intervention.

The crisis’ Durkee endured will make the reader cry and her faith in God uplifts the reader.  With God directing events, which a non believer will believe coincidence, Beth recognizes the work of God. This is an up lifting volume proving the handy work of God and the faith of one young woman;  I would recommend this book to anyone.

MEMORY OF ROMANCE VOLUME 2:

In Memoir A Testimony, Volumes 1 and 2, Memory Of Romance, Beth finds God’s directing hand in her life when dating Dwight.  Dwight made promises which he broken.  After winning a months free membership to a video dating club, Beth finds Dwight’s dismissal of “go ahead and have fun” off-putting.  However, God has a divine design for Beth and this is the beginning.  Ferreting through the men, she finds Grayson.  Grayson’s skinny, red-headed, crooked teeth, and little education.  But the Lord is at work, with no babysitters available, Grayson suggest taking her son, Ron, along.

The purple fish earring’s scenes hilarious.  Grayson thinks she’s trying to make him stop his pursuit.  However, he’s determined no one’s going to maneuver him into doing anything.  With no kiss from Grayson on the first and second dates, challenges are thrown down by both.  However, Grayson’s a determined man, as well as, emotional; he’s decided Beth’s the one for him.

Grayson’s the exact opposite of Dwight in temperament.  Dwight’s a plodder, waiting, and planning;  Grayson’s straight forward in his approach.  However, Beth found she’s not attracted to Grayson; she attempted to break it off several times to no avail. Who will Beth choose?  Will Grayson’s past family situation, stop Beth from finding the love she desires so much?

Confusion exist for Beth.  Who’s the right man for her?  When Beth receives a revelation everything changes.  God’s at work giving free will to Beth and directing her decision. Sometimes what we think we want is not what we need; God in his infinite wisdom leads us where we need to be.

CONCLUSION:

Finally, in concluding my review of A Memoir A Testimony Volumes 1 and 2, I found a wonderful testimony of faith and the goodness of our Heavenly Father.  God has a divine plan for each of us; all things work to the good of those who follow him.  With a well-developed story-line and pacing in line with the length of the book, Durkee crafted a wonderful memoir.  I would not hesitate to buy this uplifting profession of faith and God’s design for my self or a friend.
