Will they solve this mystery? Can a relationship, possibly love, bloom between Amber and Caleb as they come closer and closer? My mystery suspense romance book reviews of Reunited By Danger follows.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

Reunited In Danger grabbed me from the beginning of the book and did not let go until the last page. A fast-paced tale of vengeance, murder, and secrets, author Carol J. Post, crafted a first class story filled with mystery and suspense. I could relate to their immature behavior, as we all were immature in our teen years of high school. Post highlights the repercussions of immature behavior with the resulting damage and repercussions which occur.

I found the suspense and mystery is addictive as I became involved in the story-line. Then, I found myself asking: who’s going to be next and what happened on that night long ago? Post kept the identity of the murderer and secrets close to her chest and did not reveal either until absolutely necessary to the story-line. What event set the murderer on the trail of vengeance? Wondering if Amber’s involved and praying not, I impatiently clicked my E-reader screen, reading this book straight through as I had to know the answers.

STORY-LINE MUSIC OF HER HEART BY SOPHIE DAWSON

In Music Of Her Heart, the reader finds Red Dickerson’s staying in a line-shack on Hawk’s Wing Ranch.  After the break up of his engagement to Laura, he needed to review his life and think.  The boss gave him orders to also look out for the King Gang.  An evil group terrorizing the countryside, kidnapping women, stealing, and killing, they live like animals.

When Red finds a frightened and soaked Gema Volkovichna running in the icy rain, she reveals her escape from of the King Gang.  As ice turns to snow, trapped in the line-shack for three days, Red takes care of Gema.  Even though he knows he has sealed their fate by caring for Gema alone, Red takes his responsibility seriously.  Marriage will be the only option open to Red and Gema.  Forced into marriage, will Gema and Red come to care for one another?   Will love grow and bloom? My romance book reviews of Music Of Her Heart follows.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

Sophie Dawson, once again, created a lovely romance for her readers.  Continuing with the Sanctuary House series, Red Dickerson and Gema Volkovichna feature in Music Of Her Heart.  Of course, we meet all our old friends from earlier books, catching up on their lives along with possible romances for future books.

I did not like Red in the earlier books.  However, Dawson matured and broadened his character in Music Of Her Heart, creating a knight in shining armor I found Red dependable, capable, respectful, and striving to do the right thing.  He’s a good man who finally meets the woman God created for him.

Imagine marrying a man because you spent innocent days and nights in his care.  Gema found herself in this position and quickly married to Red.  Social rules of this time forced marriages if a man and woman spent time alone.  Even though married too beautiful young Gema, Red’s thinks he too old for her.  He felt she could not possibly want an “old zeezer” of thirty-four.  Dawson crafted a lovely woman in Gema who’s determined to get her man.  Limited English skills, do not stop Gemma from having her way with Red.  Dawson did not rush Red and Gemma into love.  Instead, she slowly developed their feelings for each other.  Also, Gema has hidden talents which Dawson revealed in a timely manner.  After you read the book, you will understand the meaning of the title.

The Dowager’s Mail Order Husband By Helen Christian

The Dowager's Mail Order Husband
The Dowager’s Mail Order Husband

STORY-LINE THE DOWAGER’S MAIL ORDER HUSBAND BY HELEN CHRISTIAN:

The Dowager’s Mail Order Husband is a heart-wrenching emotional story.  Mary Hedgepeth’s life has been abuse, drudgery, pain, and want.  After the death of her abusive husband, Mary’s thrown out of the big house into a cabin. She is now a widower and a dowager.  Here Mary tries to forge a life for herself.  She has no idea how to farm or grow her food.  She is barely hanging on.

When her husband’s brother, Richard, comes home, she’s frightened but also attracted to this handsome, kind man.  Richard is the opposite of his contemptuous brother.  Richard is a kind godly man who finds in Mary everything he has ever wanted.

Will Richard and Mary be able to overcome the abuse she has suffered?  Can happy ever after exist for Mary?  What does God have in store for Mary and Richard?  Grab a comfortable seat, my Christian historical romance book reviews of The Dowager’s Mail Order Husband follows.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

Although a short novella, I found this book satisfying.  Novellas are different from their parent the novel, as they can not explore the depth of emotion and story-line of the more extended novel.  However, Christian filled this book with feeling from the first pages.  I could feel Mary’s desperation and fear as she faced a long winter and then Richard, an unknown element added to her life.  I could feel her want as she came to know the goodness of Richard.

Saved By Love By Emily Woods

Triple Range Ranch Western Romance Book 5

Saved By Love
Saved By Love

STORY-LINE SAVED BY LOVE BY EMILY WOODS:

In Saved By Love, Georgina’s filled with grief, guilt, and regret.  Carrying a secret, no one knows at Triple Range, Georgina’s ready to end it all.  Saved by Wyatt, Georgina finds a new lease on life as she makes friends with old enemies and reconsiders her life.  However, she fears Wyatt will turn away if he learns of her terrible deeds.  Meanwhile, Wyatt has secrets of his own.  Will Georgina understand when she learns of his past and his deception?

Wyatt overhears Georgina secret and is determined to solve her problem.  With God‘s guidance, Wyatt and Georgina have a chance for happy ever after. My romance book reviews of Saved By Love follows.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

Saved By Love‘s a sweet, clean, western, romance.  Book five in the Triple Range Western Romance series, we find Wyatt and Georgina’s story;  both characters appear in earlier editions.  Emily Woods faced issues head-on in this book considered taboo in this period.  With Wyatt and Georgina having secrets which they have not revealed, this story grabs the reader immediately.

Woods begins this book with a despondent Georgina at the end of her rope;  she has lost all hope. However, rescued by Wyatt from a watery grave gives her a second chance at life.  I loved watching Woods slowly mature Georgina in her relationships with Wyatt, Cole, Amanda and their neighbors.  However, watching Georgina come to faith and belief in the Lord as her Savior was the highlight of this story.

As a result of Woods vivid writing, I could feel Georgina’s despair, fear, and unworthiness of God‘s love.  Woods skillfully and slowly brought Georgina to the knowledge of God‘s love and forgiveness by using Wyatt, Amanda, and the other Christian ladies testimony.  The backbone of this story’s God’s all-compassing love, as well as, his ability and desire to forgive anything we have done.  Georgina discovers no sin is too great for forgiveness.

Wyatt’s known as Preacher on the Triple Range because of his great love for God.  He’s a strong man who’s unafraid to state his belief in his Creator.  Wyatt’s confusion is palpable.  However, he’s ready to follow God‘s direction as he waits for God to show His plans for his life.  As a result, he’s will go the last mile to insure Georgina’s happiness.

MY OPINION:

Saved By Love is a testament to God‘s love for his creation;  which is skillfully presented by Emily Woods.  Woods included a touching romance, an intriguing plot, and our favorite characters from earlier books.  I love books with continuing characters I have come to know and love.  Emily Woods’ writing flows well, and her scenes transition smoothly from scene to scene.  I found the characters well-developed and pacing in line with the length of the book.  Emily Woods skillfully presented the salvation plan and smoothly integrated it into the story.  Woods masterfully highlights God‘s great love, His ability to heal all emotional wounds and to use us to fulfill his plans.  Saved By Love‘s a clean romance between two people with secrets in their past;  one knowing God’s love, the other in desperate need of his saving grace.  I would not hesitate to buy this book for myself or a friend.

The Everett Exorcism By Lincoln Cole

World of Shadows Book 1

The Everett Exorcism
The Everett Exorcism

STORY-LINE THE EVERETT EXORCISM BY LINCOLN COLE:

Father Niccolo Paladina arrives in Everett to investigate a report of demon possession.  Quickly Paladina realizes something’s not right in Everett.  Although he can not put his finger on the problem, he feels the strangeness in every cell of his body.

As strange things begin to happen an old enemy shows up;  Paladina realizes things are spiraling out of control. He’s in for the surprise of a lifetime as he discovers demons exist;  not as part of his imagination, but in the real world.  His horror increases as he finds the citizens of Everett are in serious trouble.  My book reviews of The Everett Exorcism follows.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

Where do I start with this review?  I am not sure I can do the book justice;  however, I will attempt to peak your interest in this captivating bookLincoln Cole hooked me in the chilling prologue and held me in the palm of his hand through the rest of the book.  As I read The Everett Exorcism, I found my heart pounding and chills on my arms. What an intriguing, scary read!

Father Niccolo Paladina, Father Jackson Reynolds, and demon Hunter Arthur Vangeest bring realism to this tale of demons, God, and the Catholic Church.  I loved watching the characters grow and mature as Cole fully developed their style and personality.  Cole included an array of secondary characters which brought depth to the storyline.  As a result, The Everett Exorcism‘s an intense, action-packed drama of the age-old battle between good and evil.  With elements of the paranormal, horror, religion, greed, and power, Cole crafted an intriguing emotional tale;  including an Exorcist who does not believe in demons brought originality and realism to the story.

Father Paladina’s education readied him for a successful career as an Exorcist.  He had all he needed except the belief in the existence of demons.  How could he exorcise something, he did not believe existed.  As a Man of God, Paladina had several characteristics which were not priestly;  including his hatred of Arthur.  His character’s believable with all the human traits, frailties, insecurities, and emotions felt by the rest of the world.

Although Arthur appears as an antagonist in the first half of the book, the reader sees a different Arthur in the last half.  As Cole unfolded Arthur’s story, the reader finds a man filled with pain, regret, and determination.  Paladina’s attitude changed as he came to see Arthur in a new light;  he became a true believer in evil and demons.  The reader will find Father Jackson Reynolds has a hidden talent;  which will make him very valuable to the coming battle.

Lincoln Cole skillfully developed the antagonist of The Everett Exorcism;  filling him with greed and the desire for more and more power.  Cole placed him in a seat of religious authority where he uses his power and influence for evil.  He’s the great pretender who appears pious.

MY OPINION:

I found The Everett Exorcism fast-paced and well-written. The characters are well-developed, full-bodied, realistic and believable.  Cole created an intense drama with an original, refreshing storyline.  He created an action-packed finale filled with demons and terror as they battle for the souls in small town Everett.  Although part of a series, The Everett Exorcism‘s a standalone readCole gives the reader enough background to bring you up-to-date.  I would not hesitate to buy this book for myself or a friend.  I look forward to the next book in this series.

Second Chances For Trampled Hearts By Shoshanna Gabriel

Sweet Inspirational Cowboy Romance

Second Chances For Trampled Hearts
Second Chances For Trampled Heart

STORY-LINE SECOND CHANCES FOR TRAMPLED HEARTS BY SHOSHANNA GABRIEL:

In Miami, Allie has a dream of owning her own diner.  Bill’s Uncle Fred owned a diner;  after his death, Bill inherited the diner and closed it down.  Deciding to reopen the diner on a 50/50 partnership, he will fund all the repairs and renovations, and the partner will handle the day-to-day operation.  Allie and Bill email back and forth;  becoming close friends and a partnership’s formed.

Allie invested every cent she had in the partnership.  With rent due, she heads across the country to Bear Creek Saddle, Idaho and Bill.  However, she’s arriving almost out of gas, down to her last few pennies, and two weeks early.   To say their first meeting did not go well would be an understatement.  Allie can not afford to back out of the deal at this point, but upon seeing the run down nasty diner, sparks fly between Bill and Allie.

God has a plan for these two broken people.  With faith, love, and God on their side, Allie and Bill could have something beautiful.  Will they grab on and not let go?  My inspirational romance book reviews of Second Chances For Trampled Hearts follows.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

Shoshanna Gabriel created a firecracker of a story in Second Chances For Trampled Hearts.  The sparks fly around Bill and Allie as they square off. Sparks of attraction, disappointment, and anger.  I loved Bill’s characters; his dry humor was so much like my son-in-law.  Allie’s always primed and ready to explode at the drop of a hat.  What a feisty woman!  When she goes off on Bill, which she did over and over, I laughed and giggled.  My husband would never stand still for what Allie dished out to Bill.

Each had their own point of view.  Allie did not hesitate telling Bill what she thought;  she had a  dream of what the diner could become.  Each had strong opinions, and they butted heads often.  Bill’s determined to have his way while Allie’s determined to bring him around to her way of thinking;  making the reader wonder if a compromise is in their vocabulary.  I loved watching them spar and dance around each other.  Also, I loved that Shoshanna Gabriel gave Bill and Allie morals and standards.  It was terrific to find they would go no further than kissing unless united in marriage.

CHARACTERS,  PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

Laurie Larsen created an intensely emotional book, as well as, filling the story-line with laughter.  From the first page I was hooked as Larsen sent a frightened, insecure, and awkward Regan out on the auction stage.  What a funny scene she created in the beginning of the story.  The conversations Regan has with herself are hilarious as well as, heart breaking.  At times I didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, or do both at the same time.

Larsen‘s writing is vivid, crisp, fresh, and clear, as she leads us through this wonderful love story; a love story with many layers.  She had no need of fluff or sex to full the pages;  the story-line held me enthralled as I become involved in the characters lives.  Larsen‘s characters are well-developed and full-bodied with pacing which never slowed.

The Miracle Ship: Conversations with John Gillespie
The Miracle Ship: Conversations with John Gillespie

THE MIRACLE SHIP BY BRIAN O’HARE:

A wonderful book of courage and deep abiding faith, The Miracle Ship, is a must for Christian and non Christian alike.  The life of a deeply faithful man, John Gillespie, who endured pain unimaginable, and prayed unceasingly for healing.  He discovered we must believe the miracle will be manifested before God will show his power.

Gillespie believes praying and begging unending will not force God to manifest healing until we believe without a shadow of doubt and know the miracle has occurred; even if we have not seen it yet.  Gillespie’s understanding and faith grew as he’s tormented by pain; given no hope from doctors, the Great Physician perfected Gillespie’s miracle.  Gillespie believes Satan’s always ready to place doubt in our minds, he states must hold fast to God’s promise and never stop praying, fasting, and believing.

“ask in faith with no doubting: James 1:6”

Gillespie found God test and tries each of us.  In this testing, we become stronger and have a deeper abiding faith in God.  Resisting God’s call to a healing ministry, Gillespie found he could not ignore God’s plan for him.  He would receive gifts of the Holy Spirit and much more.  When his child’s deviled by Satan, he came to understand God was teaching him of demons. He also discovered he could not fight God’s will; he must surrender his life to God’s plans.  From this point his life was never the same; he must do the work God planned for him.

Gillespie performed many miracles through Jesus Our Savior, healing many immediately, others manifested later.  For it was not him performing these miracles, but God in his infinite power and mercy.   Regardless of what we are fervently asking him to heal, God decides what will be healed and when to manifest the healing. Gillespie believes we must remove all stumbling blocks which stop God’s healing such as unforgiveness, guilt, resentment, contempt, past hurts, grudges, or bitterness.
