STORY-LINE LOVE’S HOPE BY JA’ESE DIXON:

In Love’s Hope we find Sandra James, owner of a successful café, a steady boyfriend Alonso, and the best friend anyone could have, Bruce.  But all is not as it should be nor as wonderful as it seems.  The boyfriend will not commit to marriage, her engaged sister’s pregnant with twins and Sandra’s in charge of the wedding, plus her café is not as satisfying as it once was.  Her friend, Serafine, owns Love Never Fails Retreat, a faith based retreat for women.  Will Sandra find the answers and solutions she needs.  My inspirational romance book review of Love’s Hope follows.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

Ja’Nese Dixon created a wonderful look into a life filled with dissatisfaction and lack of purpose. A sweet clean book, with romance and life choices.  I enjoyed watching Sandra come to terms with the reasons for her dissatisfaction.  Viewing life in an intense retreat environment’s wonderful; I found Serafine particularly loving, possessing a deep faith, and a talent for counseling.

STORY-LINE THE VENGEFUL GROOM BY MISTY SHAE:

In The Vengeful Groom we find Thomas Engelberg and Caroline Saget.  Caroline, daughter to Ryan Saget, who ruined many fine men and their businesses with his dishonest business deals.  Having nothing but mean and rude comments for Carolina when he’s not ignoring her, he’s a sad excuse for a father.  Caroline seeks a way out of her torment.  Placing a mail order bride ad, she wants to go west.

Thomas Engelberg father’s one of the men Saget ruined.  Seeking vengeance, he answers Caroline’s mail order bride ad; saying all the things she needs to hear, he can not wait to begin his revenge against Saget by using Caroline.  The proverb states, “He who seeks vengeance must dig two graves one for his enemy & one for himself.”  After marrying Caroline and making her life hell, Thomas will find this proverb true.  Will these two ever come together in love and happiness?  Can Caroline’s love for Thomas and faith in God change Thomas for the better?  Will she ever be able to forgive his horrendous treatment of her?  My romance book review of The Vengeful Groom follows.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

Oh my, what a short story Shae created.  Although short stories and novellas can not develop the characters or story-line in the depth of the their parent, the novel, Shae packed this short story with emotion.  I felt so sorry for Caroline I almost cried. Living a life of subjugation, discouragement, and belittling, she thought she had found her knight in shining armor. However, Caroline finds continuation of her earlier life.  Carolina never lost her faith in God’s goodness;  praying for Thomas daily.  Hoping for her happy ever after dream to come true.

Raised by a calm Catholic father and an exuberant religious mother, Beth knew church and God from an early age.  But not spiritually, this would come later as she realized God always has a plan, hears and answers our prayers when in line with his will, and sometimes his plans take years for completion.  The Lord had his hand on her life, orchestrating the events which could have killed her, without his intervention.

The crisis’ Durkee endured will make the reader cry and her faith in God uplifts the reader.  With God directing events, which a non believer will believe coincidence, Beth recognizes the work of God. This is an up lifting volume proving the handy work of God

THE GRANITE KEY, STORY LINE:

In her book, the Granite key, Author Nancy Wikarski has created a history story-line that is far different from the one told by archaeologist, scientist and the educational system.  Her take on the creation story and worship is intriguing; although I did not research her sources, her research appears in-depth and from many sources.

Two groups are searching for religious artifacts for two very different reasons.  The Arkana are preserving artifacts from the beginning of history, the Blessed Nephilim’s Cult leader Abraham Metcalf, has a very

Refuge of the Heart by Ruth Logan Herne

Book Review

This is a wonderful story of courage, survival, the undefeated human spirit, terror, relationships, faith in God and redeeming love.  I loved this story and couldn’t read it fast refuge of the heartenough. Author Ruth Logan Herne did a wonderful job of instilling emotion into this story; I could feel Lena’s emotions; the cultural differences, the language, having to start her education over here, I thank God I live in America.  Lena, the main character of this story has suffered as no human being should have to suffer, and came to America with the help of the Catholic Church for a new life.
