Play Dead Is An Intense Psychological Thriller

D.I. Kim Stone is back in action in book 4 of the Stone Series.  Play Dead is an action packed thrill ride of suspense from the first pages to the last pages with nonstop plotting and development.

Westerley research facility, aka the body farm, is the dumping ground for a depraved and evil murderer.  Bodies that do not belong on the farm are appearing and D.I. Kim Stone and her team are assigned to solve this disturbing and confusing case.  However, the villain has made a mistake and left a victim alive but horribly injured.  As a result can Stone and her team solve this case or will forces that they have no control derail the investigation, and can D.I. Stone hold everything together and ferret out a murderer before they kill again?

Come along with Stone and her team as they piece together another harrowing crime and bring justice to the victims.

First of all, Author Angela Marsons latest novel, Play Dead, is a deep and intense psychological thriller resulting in breathless with anticipation for the next book in the series.  Ms. Marsons has the ability to scare the pants off her readers.  She takes you through the investigation of harrowing murders, deranged killers, and crimes that could very well happen in any city any where.  Consequently, her characters feel real and face tragedies, situations, and experiences.

In addition, Ms. Marsons created plots that were intriguing and will hold your attention to the last page.  Nothing is as you think.  Ms. Marsons drops hints and clues along the story-line, however, I was so wrong in my determination of the culprit’s identity and the reasons behind these awful crimes.  Ms. Marsons created many threads in this story, wove those threads together, and created a conclusion to the book that will leave you with your mouth open. Talk about a killer ending, this one was a huge surprise.

Also, Ms. Marson’s development of the characters was skillful as they grew throughout the story-line;  consequently, this is the team you want on your side if you are the victim of a crime.  Ms. Marsons shows that even law enforcement officers have issues in their life that colors everything they do and presents her villains with backgrounds that almost make you pity them.  You notice I said almost.

Lastly, the pace of the story was fast and full of action and clues, it never slowed, lagged, or bogged down.   This story starts on a high peak and rides the coaster all the way to the end.

In concluding the review of Play Dead, I found Ms. Marsons talented in crafting an engrossing story-line with a fresh and clear style of writing and the ability to enmesh you in her scenes.  As a result, she is an author to watch as I can see great things in store for her writing career.

In conclusion, I gave this book 5+ stars without hesitation.  It is a solid, well-written story with characters that are likeable or hated depending on the character, written by a talented author who has a bright future.

Additional Note:  I received this book from in return for honest book review.  Book reviews of any novel are dependent on the book review author’s opinion;  in addition book reviews on line under my name and on my blog are my opinion.
