A Deaf Mail Order Bride for the Reluctant Rancher: Benson Creek Mail Order Brides by Emma Morgan

a eaf mail order bride forthe reluctant rancher

Book Review

She was physically deaf, He was emotionally blind to a wonderful woman!

This is another of Author Emma Morgan’s wonderful books about strong women with disabilities and their search for love in the Wild West.

Story Line:

In this story Sally Tidwell, a deaf young woman, is on her way to Benson Creek as a mail order bride. She’s tired of everyone treating her defective when they find she is deaf. Ms. Morgan created a character in Sally that is a hard worker, pretty, a good cook and home provider.

Ms. Morgan added drama to the story as Jeb has no idea his future bride is deaf. Jeb is expecting a whole bride not one that as he puts it “is as deaf as a tree; he is floored when he realizes Sally is deaf. Jeb is stuck on her disability.

He’s determined to find her a good husband just not him. There is a problem with his plan, everyone he chooses he finds fault; they are drinkers, lazy, spoiled, or just won’t do. He rejects each one that comes to mind. He is very attracted to Sally. Sally is attracted to Jeb and determined to marry him.

Will he find someone who suits him for Sally or will he decide that Sally’s disability is not a disability at all. Ms. Morgan’s creation of the situation with Jeb as he wrestles with his attraction and finds fault with every perspective groom is so funny. I laughed and thought: he is a goner. This is a clean short read I enjoyed very much. I loved the way Ms. Morgan described the country and had Jeb on tether hooks.

Ms. Morgan created in Sally a strong determined woman who does not consider herself defective, and she knows she would make a great wife, now she just has to convince Jeb. Ms. Morgan’s portrayal of the tension and attraction with Jeb was top-notch.

Character, Plotting And Development:

The story is short but emotion packed and you will spend the time routing for Sally and you will want to shake Jeb.

The character development, pacing and plotting was in line with the length of the novel.

Recommendation:

This book will appeal to anyone that likes a good clean short romance.   Books reviews of any novel are dependent on the book review author’s opinion;  book reviews on line under my name are my opinion.

Please be advised that 3 of these books are available as a bundle. I found I enjoyed them immensely reading them back to back.  Reviews will follow for the other books in this series

This book is free on Kindle unlimited.  If you wish to purchase from Amazon I have placed a link on the sidebar for kindle books
